Nonsystemic peripheral nerve vasculitis can present as both asymmetric neuropathy (mononeuritis multiplex), and distal symmetric neuropathy. Progression is slower. The disease is associated with general symptoms as fever and weight loss. There are no specific disease associations. Histology shows lymphocytic infiltration in nerve and facultative muscle. Histologically perineurial thickening and patchy axon loss is detected. |
