It is characterized by punctate keratotic plugs and pits, generally no more than 1-2 mm in diameter, confined to the creases of the palms and the palmar surfaces of the fingers. The keratotic plugs have been shown to occur directly above the acrosyringium of ecccrine sweat ducts. Pits develop when the keratin plugs detach. |
