A rare pruritic inflammatory dermatosis characterised by recurrent eruptions of itchy erythematous macules and papules succeeded by by reticulate pigmentation affecting preferentially the trunk. The cause is unknown but there is a neutrophilic infiltrate in early lesions and the inflammation responds clinically to agents known to suppress neutrophilic chemotaxis including minocycline and dapsone. It is reported most commonly in young women from Japan. |
