Der neue Begriff ist heute weithin akzeptiert und beschreibt besser die Pathophysiologie, d.h. die Kombination aus vollständiger und unvollständiger transitorischer globaler zerebraler Ischämie zusammen mit einer Kombination aus Anoxie und Hypoxie.
